Adventurous people gravitate to each other and for good reason. Not only is going on an outdoor adventure great for us physically, it also helps us create a stronger bond and connection. Experiencing unusual or challenging situations can be more rewarding when you share a priceless memory with someone else.
When one of you is less adventurous than the other, the more adventurous can provide encouragement and assurance. At the end of the day, you’ll both have an amazing memory to cherish. No matter your comfort level of adventure,  there are  plenty of options to experience adventure in the outdoors. These are some of the best outdoor activities that adventurous couples can experience.

Kayaking

Pack your patience and coordination skills.  Tandem kayaks aren’t called divorce boats for nothing. That might not sound appealing at first, but kayaking together can give you a chance to experience some pretty cool scenery while perfecting your communication skills. Bonus points for being able to explore secluded islands like we did in the Cook Islands.
Some of our most memorable kayaking trips:
San Juan Islands, Washington

Hiking

You’ll likely get hot and sweaty and look less than polished, but hiking is a great way to get in some quality time.  It forces you to set a shared goal and accomplish it together.  Once you reach your end goal you’ll have an awesome shared sense of accomplishment. When you conquer mountains together, everything else is a piece of cake.
Some of our most memorable hikes:
Big Sur, California
Roy’s Peak, New Zealand

Snorkeling

Explore the magical world underwater while you relax and strengthen trust with your partner.  Snorkeling helps you to relax and improves your mood because of the controlled breathing required. You also have to trust each other to watch for each others safety in addition to your own.   And you will probably get to see some pretty cool shit too. We’ve seen turtles, dolphins, large schools of puffer fish, sea lions, and plenty more all while snorkeling.
Some of our most memorable snorkeling trips:
Koh Phi Phi, Thailand
La Jolla Cove, San Diego

Stand Up Paddleboarding

Stretch your legs and test your balance out on the open waters. Not only is SUPing a nice total body workout, it’s a fun way to let your competitive side come out.  Whoever stays on the longest wins! Bonus points for if you stay dry the whole time.
Some of our most memorable SUP trips:
San Diego, California
Chicago, Illinois

Canyoning

Dangle over a cliff wall, repel down a gushing waterfall and swim through water as you descend a canyon. Canyoning offers a unique opportunity to see nearly untouched natural beauty. Canyoning tests your physical and mental limits. Going with your partner will highlight what you are capable of accomplishing together.
Some of our most memorable canyoning trips:
Titou Gorge, Dominica
Routeburn Trek, New Zealand
