Perhaps you’ve resolved to be more adventurous in the New Year. To take risks and break out of your routine. You decided that you needed to shake things up. But where to start? Here are some ideas to tip the scales and get you living more adventurously this year.
Explore your Surroundings
Who says adventures require a plane ticket or a long journey? Adventure is closer than you think. Check out that park or museum in town you’ve always meant to go to and never had the chance. Who knows, maybe it’ll make you look at your hometown in a whole new light.
Choose Your Adventure
Pack your bags and go on an unplanned road trip with a friend, or even by yourself. If you’re a planner like me, the lack of planning is an adventure unto itself. You’d be surprised at how much fun it can be to go off script and fly by the seat of your pants.
Connect with Nature
Camping is a great way to get away from the comforts of life and connect with your surroundings. If you plan it out just right, you may end up in a place with no cell reception forcing you to connect with nature, your camping mates, and yourself.
Take a Hike
Hiking is a great way to incorporate adventure into your life. It takes you out of your comfort zone, challenges your mind, and body. And it doesn’t cost a whole lot of cash. You can make hiking as easy or hard as you’d like. It can also be a great way to meet new people if you join a local hiking group.
Challenge Yourself
Learn something new or do something daring. Always wondered what it would be like to free-dive, snowboard, or dance? Find out how to this year. Commit to doing that one crazy thing you’ve always dreamt about and do it!
The hardest thing about doing something new is starting in the first place. Once you take those first steps towards living more adventurously, you’ll be hooked. Sign-up for our newsletter to keep up with our year of adventure!

Those are some really rad shots. One of my goals for 2017 is to explore a new site for a week at least once a quarter. Keep up the great stuff.

Hi Nate! Thanks for the compliment! Way to commit to an awesome goal :) good luck!
I agree that the New Year is the perfect time to try something new! I have skied for around 6 years, but a good challenge for me could be to try snowboarding next, or like you suggested, go on a hike. What was your goal this year?
