Polar Vortex – What does that even mean?  Well in Chicago it means waking up to -15F  with wind chills as low as -52F yesterday.  Today it means waking up to -10.  After walking from the L stop to my office (less than 5 minutes) my forehead hurt from the cold. It was the only part of my body exposed to the air. So it got me thinking about 5 places I’d rather be right now than in the midst of a polar vortex.

Bora Bora

This is an obvious choice.  Photo Credit: Benoit Mahe on flickr

New Zealand

Hanging out with Kiwis is much better than -52F. It’s not even fair to compare the two. Photo Credit: letisha81 on flickr

Kruger National Park, South Africa.

Where would your top places be to escape the polar vortex?
